Bullet Raja is an action-drama film. The hair raising action sequences are fantastically paced and the wit and humor used to set off the scenes are great. This flick is set in the badlands of India, while dealing with the industrial powers and political powers of the state. Like Dhulia’s earlier films, Bullet Raja too is unique in it’s own way.

Bullet Raja’s plot is packed with several twists and turns, and has at least a dozen significant characters. Despite introducing a new character every twenty minutes, the writer keeps a thorough check on where the story is headed. The movie is set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh-based mafia group. The story of the movie revolves around Raja Mishra (Saif Ali Khan), a common man, who gets turned into a fully fledged gangster later as he gets entangled in a shootout
The story then plots his and his friend Rudra’s (Jimmy Shergill) journey in the politics and violence of UP. Then Raja and Rudra make their way up into main stream politics while playing henchmen for the leading opposition party leader. The characters of Raja and Rudra make compelling anti heroes. They are loyal, romantic, witty, macho, strong and exude panache in every move.
Although Saif is a gangster in the movie, but Bullet Raja also has for us some instances of romance between Saif and Sonakshi Sinha, who is Raja’s love interest in the film. This gangster has his lady love to whom he is very loyal.
Bullet Raja Review:
Shubhash K. Jha of NDTV says, “It takes a politically savvy storyteller of Dhulia’s skills to convert the lowest ebb of our politics into an occasion of high drama. It takes a politically savvy storyteller of Dhulia’s skills to convert the lowest ebb of our politics into an occasion of high drama.”
Aparna Modi of Zee News says, “The movie is a must watch for anyone who loves hard core action. It is not as intense as Dhulia’s previous ventures were, but ‘Bullett Raja’ will surely not let you down.”
Srijana Mitra Das of Times of India states, “BR scores with its tight performances, Saif terrific with his clenched-jaw comedy, Shergill intense and growlingly funny, Jamwal’s flying kicks and wavy hair making the landscape even hotter. Sonakshi’s pleasant if unsurprising.”
Faheem Ruhan of India Today says, “Bullet Raja’s slogan claims ‘aayenge toh garmi badyaenge.’ To the film’s credit it delivers what it promises.”
Mohar Basu of Koimoi.com says: “It wouldn’t be a terrible thing if you miss Bullett Raja. To begin with, it was a pointless film that destroyed its gutsy premise to tatters. Attempting to strike a balance between over-the-top and ridiculous, this one is hands down Dhulia’s most immature attempt at filmmaking. From the man who made Paan Sigh Tomar filled with deft touches, Bullett Raja is a grotesque misfire.”

This action-drama packed movie is expected to make a fine opening across India. The film has already got good reviews from critics, despite that film had a slow start in the morning, but later the movie picked up. Since, it has released on a non-holiday, we can’t expect Bullet Raja to break total box office collection record. However, positive word of mouth and good reviews will surely help the movie to earn well in the upcoming weekend. It is being expected that the film will manage to earn around 18-20 crores in its first weekend, which is decent for a film carrying little or no pre-release hype.
